Guys, wow. I haven't been able to blog since Rachelle and Andy's engagement session (COVID + stay-at-home mom life has kept me strictly to instagram as far as sharing anything goes). So this feels awesome to be back on my site and kicking off 2020 wedding blogs with this gorgeous day!
COVID has reeeeaaaalllly blown apart so many wedding plans. As much as my heart is breaking for you guys having to postpone, I know I'm not the only photog who is loving the creativity coming out of our couples who want to keep their original wedding dates. Rachelle and Andy's initial arrangements were going to be more traditional, but they ended up having something very different when quarantine brought their vision to a halt. All throughout the stress of the re-planning phase, Rachelle had the most AMAZING positive attitude about the whole ordeal and I am so impressed by what she came up with on such short notice. Working with a super small guest list and no indoor venue, they had a relaxed vibe picnic-style wedding and reception that happened to land on the most perfect weather day. (Meant to be? I think so). Guest families each had their own picnic blanket with a crate full of snacks and favorite treats from both of the couple's late fathers. The blankets were set up to form an aisle up to a simple arbor decorated with greenery and drapes and a vintage boho rug that became the dance floor later! This entire day was so much fun to document, from pulling up to see the groom setting up the decor to sending the newlyweds off to run in the open field. Another one for the books that I was so dang lucky to be a part of.
(and I'd be so down for more picnic weddings, just saying.)
